Melbourne

So, after I wrote the last post I made my way to the Royal Botanical Garden where I rested in the shadow of a tree.
The sun is really very strong, and my arm started to get sunburned, so I waited there for another hour until I continued back towards the city.
As it is Chinese new year they build a stage where some dancers and bands were performing.
A group of Hare Krishna also showed up and they danced and sang their song, which get even I would be able to memorize..

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama
Rama Rama Hare Hare

Today was my first laundry day and when I finished that I headed to  Central Melbourne to catch a hop on and hop off bus.
I went to the Queen Victoria Market ,where I had some wonderful Indian food.

After that I went to the Australian Centre of Contemporary Art, where there was this beautiful bicycle sculpture.

Come to Australia

Well i have arrived savely in Australia, and I have even survived my first day without being stung, bitten, poisend or eaten.
So, chill down and maybe it's not that bad like this video might point out:

The only real problem I had was with my car. Sure, the windows could not be closed anymore,so they were open the whole night, but that is not what I am talking about.
It's incredible hard to find a place where you can park your car for more than 4 hours. So I had to stay near my car from 8am to 11pm to get a new ticket. The car was really a burden. Fortunately my host showed me where I could find one of the very rare places where I could put it. So if any of you wants to visit an Australian city: leave your car way out of it.
But the public transportation system is pretty good.

I have rented a bike for the whole day and now start to explore the city.
First I was in the Hosier Lane, where street artists have painted the walls of the buildings.

After that I was in the Ian Potter Museum of arts where some indigenous and modern arts had been displayed.

So, take care and CU later.

Last day in Singapore

So this is it.
My last day in Singapore has begun.
I will be leaving Singapore this evening at 10.30 pm and head towards Melbourne.
This city is really nice and I think it was really worth to make stop here.
So this morning I did a small trip to Chinatown and walked through a narrow street full of stores and shops where tons of unrecognizable stuff was sold.
One more shower and I will head to the airport. So the next post will be from Melbourne.

Mount Faber Park / Marina Bay Sands

So, today was a quite walk intensive day.
We made our ways to the Mount Faber National Park where we had made a small trail. Though we were just walking about two hours, the heat and humidity was so intense that it was quite exhausting. We had a nice view across Singapore, and the harbour.

After that we headed towards Marina Bay to visit the Botanical Garden.

Marina Bay Sands was the next goal where we had a cocktail in the bar located on top of the skyscraper which had the shape of a ship.

Lovely!

Little India, Sultan Mosque

Today I did a bus trip with a hop on and hop off bus.
We were travelling across the whole city and hopped off the bus in little India.
We had some wonderful Indian food and enjoyed the Indian flair of this subcity.
We passed on into the Arab region where we visited a Mosque.
As it is not allowed to wear Shorts I had to wear this lovely green dress.
The building was quite interesting, and some basics could be learned.

Afterwards we finished our day trip in a local brew house called Brewwerkz, where I had a lovely dark raspberry wheat beer.
Yummy.

Night tour

Yesterday I did a night your around the Marina bay.
The bridges and buildings were illuminated and there was even a laser show where they were practising for the Chinese new year party on the 8th of February.
We had supper at one of the food markets at the bay, where a had a wonderful green Thai curry.
Singapore really has some impressive buildings, especially at night it was very nice to look at.

Singapore

I have arrived safely in Singapore.
As I still have quite a jetlag, I wasn't too busy today.
I made a boat trip across the Singaporean bay. Though that for sure isn't very exhausting, I still am sweating much, as the temperature is 35 degrees Celsius with a very high humidity.
So I am back at the hostel to cool down and to upload pictures.
Tonight I will go on a small hike to catch the marina at night.
