Little India, Sultan Mosque

Today I did a bus trip with a hop on and hop off bus.
We were travelling across the whole city and hopped off the bus in little India.
We had some wonderful Indian food and enjoyed the Indian flair of this subcity.
We passed on into the Arab region where we visited a Mosque.
As it is not allowed to wear Shorts I had to wear this lovely green dress.
The building was quite interesting, and some basics could be learned.

Afterwards we finished our day trip in a local brew house called Brewwerkz, where I had a lovely dark raspberry wheat beer.
Yummy.

Night tour

Yesterday I did a night your around the Marina bay.
The bridges and buildings were illuminated and there was even a laser show where they were practising for the Chinese new year party on the 8th of February.
We had supper at one of the food markets at the bay, where a had a wonderful green Thai curry.
Singapore really has some impressive buildings, especially at night it was very nice to look at.

Singapore

I have arrived safely in Singapore.
As I still have quite a jetlag, I wasn't too busy today.
I made a boat trip across the Singaporean bay. Though that for sure isn't very exhausting, I still am sweating much, as the temperature is 35 degrees Celsius with a very high humidity.
So I am back at the hostel to cool down and to upload pictures.
Tonight I will go on a small hike to catch the marina at night.

Ich bin sicher in Singapur angekommen.

Da ich noch einen ziemlich starken Jetlag habe, war ich heute nicht sehr fleißig. Ich habe einen Bootstrip durch die Bucht von Singapur gemacht. Das ist zwar nicht sehr anstrengend, trotzdem schwitze ich stark,weil die Temperaturen bei 35 Grad liegen mit einer sehr hohen Luftfeuchtigkeit.

Also werde ich zurück in das Hostel gehen um abzukühlen und Fotos hoch zu laden.

Heute Nacht werde ich eine kleine Wanderung in die Bucht machen.

Last hours in Germany / meine letzten Stunden in Deutschland

So, finally it's here.
My last hours in Germany for the next 2 months.
But I have to say , that Düsseldorf really didn't do much to make me regret my decision. The weather was just horrible. Lots of rain and lots of wind pouring at my window. Bah.

At the airport a small group of Kurds made a demonstration, with quite some noise.
But still it wasn't too impressive.


So 90 more minutes until my flight goes off. Time to start to read my travel guide for Singapore.


Jetzt ist es also soweit.
Meine letzte Stunde in Deutschland hat geschlagen.
Aber ich muss schon sagen, dass Düsseldorf es mir ziemlich leicht gemacht hat, meine Entscheidung nicht zu bereuhen. Das Wetter war furchtbar.Der Regen und Wind prasselte nur so an mein Fenster. BAH!
Am Flughafen war dann eine kleine Kurdendemo, die ordentlich Krach gemacht haben. War aber trotzdem nicht so beeindruckend.
In 90 Minuten geht dann mein Flug nach Singapur los.

Last day at work / letzter Arbeitstag

So, how should I put it...

Today was my last day at work. I have 1 day to pack up my stuff and to say "good by" Germany.
At Saturday I will depart at 8.30 pm towards Dubai, where I will arrive at 6 am. After 3 hours my plane will go towards Singapore, where I will land at 8.30 pm.
So I have 3 hours to get to the hostel and to check in.
Next post will from Singapore.

Heute war mein letzter Tag auf der Arbeit. Ich habe also einen Tag Zeit meine Sachen zu packen und "Auf Wiedersehen Deutschland " zu sagen.
Am Samstag geht es um 20.30 Uhr Richtung Dubai los, wo ich um 6 Uhr ankommen werde. Nach 3 Stunden Aufenthalt geht es weiter nach Singapur, wo ich um 20.30 Uhr landen werde.
Dann habe ich 3 Stunden Zeit um zum Hostel zu gelangen und einzuchecken.
Der nächste Post kommt also aus Singapur.

Got my visa / Ich habe mein Visum

I have just got my visa for Australia. So everything is on GO for my holiday!

And I already had been busy to figure out which mobile contract i should choose.
Well, I have to admit that, as a good German, I have chosen Aldi Talk for Australia. Just 10 cent for international calls to Germany. That's fair.. And for just 20 Bucks I do have 1.5 GB of mobile data.
For New Zealand it will be skinny, where I can get an option for 10 NZD for 300 minutes of talk to Germany. So Frank can spend a lot of time talking to his mom..

Last but not least, I have to practice how to attach pictures to my blog, so this how the joy of anticipation looks like.

Ich habe mein Visum für Australien, somit steht alles auf Grün für den Urlaub.
Und ich war fleißig beim Ermitteln, welchen Handyvertrag ich nehmen sollte.
Als guter Deutscher habe in AldiTalk in Australien genommen. Für nur 10 Cent kann man nach Deutschland telefonieren. Ziemlich fair. Und für gerade mal 20 Dollar kann ich noch 1,5 GB versurfen.
In Neuseeland wird es dann Skinny werden, wo man für 10 NZD 300 Minuten nach Deutschland telefonieren kann. Frank kann also häufig seine Mutter anrufen...
Zu guter Letzt muss ich noch üben ein Bild in meinem Blog zu ergänzen. So schaut also Vorfreude aus.

Booked my first place to stay / Habe meine erste Unterkunft gebucht

My first hostel is booked.
I will stay in the River City Inn Hostel in Singapore, 33C Hong Kong Street in a 6 bed room.
In Thailand I made quite good experiences in hostels, so I believe that this is a good way to get in touch with other travellers.
I am looking forward to find out, what Singapore is like.

Meine erste Unterkunft ist gebucht.
Ich werde im River City Inn Hostel in Singapur, 33C Hong Kong Street, in einem 6-Bettenraum übernachten.
In Thailand habe ich ziemlich gute Erfahrungen in Hostels gemacht, da man dort gut mit anderen Reisenden in Kontakt kommen kann.
Bin gespannt, wie Singapur sein wird.
